SUTA’s December 8th Calorie Burn (Trail Work Party on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail)

The Tunnel Ridge access trail is one of the most popular sections of the trail.  We will complete the work we started last month and finish trimming the middle of the loop between Tunnel and Bear Gulch.  In addition, we will do some tread work to install some much needed drainage features so that parts of the trail don’t wash away this winter.  For those doing trail clearing you will walk about 4 miles round trip.  For the crew working on drainage features we will focus only on the access trail so roughly a 2 mile round trip or less.

Tunnel tours for anyone wishing to go through the Tunnel!

Where:  Meet at Buncom (corner of Sterling Creek Rd and Little Applegate Rd) at 8:30 AM.  We will carpool down Little Applegate Rd to the Tunnel Ridge Trialhead.  (Click here for Map to Buncom, and here for SUTA Trail Directions.)

When:  Saturday, December 8, 2018   ~  8:30AM-1:30PM (SUTA provides lunch)

What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – cutting/digging out encroaching vegetation and tread work as needed.  We cancel only if heavy rain/snow is forecast. SUTA volunteers will bake home made snacks.
