The Year of Fantastic Trail Books for Our Region!

Since we know you love trails, we have two recommendations for your summer reading pleasure and enjoyment throughout the year.  For those of you interested in learning about great trails around the Applegate and in the Siskiyou Crest region, three local authors have published two totally different and terrific guides to wonderful trails in our area (including the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail).

I heartily recommend you purchase copies of each of these books so you can explore our local trails and learn about their cultural and natural history and much more.

Released this spring:

Favorite Hikes of the Applegate – A Trail Guide with Stories and Histories

by Diana Coogle and Janeen Sathre

Favorite Hikes of the ApplegateYou can buy this great book at many local book stores and outdoor stores such as Bloomsbury Books in Ashland or the NW Outdoor Store in Medford, or the Star Ranger Station.  If you cannot find it email Janeen or Diana at laughdogpress@gmail.com

The second book was just released and is another great addition:

The Siskiyou Crest: Hikes, History & Ecology

by Luke Ruediger

I have attached a full description of this new book below, including how to buy it.

Each of these books would make thoughtful gifts to yourself and your friends (and I’m not getting a toaster for saying this).  Enjoy them and more importantly, the trails!
