Please Join Us for a Celebratory Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
National Trails Day – Saturday, June 4, 2011
W HO: The Siskiyou Upland Trails Association (SUTA) and the Medford Bureau of Land Management jointly invite you, your family, and friends.
W HAT: A Celebratory Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony marking the official re-opening of 18 miles of an extraordinary historic and scenic non-motorized trail, almost right in your backyard! Self-guided hikes of the trail, a kids’ nature walk; a guided wildflower/bird walk; and a self-supported 18 mile trail run (not a SUTA sponsored event).
W HY: June 4th is National Trails Day, when the U.S. celebrates its amazing bounty of wonderful recreational trails and their enormous values to our communities.
W HERE: The ceremony will be at the Deming Trail head off Sterling Creek Road (between mile marker 8 and 9). This is about 10 miles south of Jacksonville. Click here for directions to Deming Trail head.
W HEN: The Ribbon-Cutting ceremony will take place between 11:00-11:30. The kids’ hike and the wildflower/bird walk will begin shortly after the ceremony. SUTA will have volunteers at all trail heads with information, maps and suggestions for a great hike from 11:30-3:00 PM.
