Two short items – both are causes for celebration. First, we received our official designation from the IRS as a non-profit organization last week which is enormously valuable to us as we move forward. This means donations are tax deductable and we can approach foundations for grants as funding is needed for the Jack-Ash trail system.
The second cause for celebration is we have two more fantastic Trail Work Party opportunities offering exhilarating exercise, lots of laughs, gorgeous spring flowers, helping a terrific cause, eating delicious treats and a chance to spend time with some great people. Who could ask for more?
The details: Saturday, April 9th – we’ll meet at the Little Applegate Trailhead at 9 AM. Our plan is to hike up the trail about a mile to work on the private property by-pass which is a mile or so long – so about 4 miles roundtrip at least. If you would like to carpool, be at Buncom (intersection of Sterling Creek and Little Applegate Roads) no later than 8:45 AM
If you are coming on Saturday it would be great to know so we can plan the all important snacks and know who to be looking out for. Please RSVP to Jim Reiland at:
email@example.com or call 541-899-1091 or reply to this email.
Your next chance to join us will be Saturday April 23rd!!!!!
We hope to see many of you this Saturday – out there enjoying and helping trim the trail for the season. For details, see below.
WHAT TO BRING: Loppers, a folding pruning saw, gloves, and a small backpack for water and a trail snack. Sense of humor, friends, and family!
WHAT TO WEAR: Sturdy footwear, and dress in layers. Rain gear if rain is forecast. Consider wearing light colored pants to see ticks more easily (they’re out now!).
Heavy rain or snow cancels; for light or threatening rain or snow flurries, dress appropriately! Yes we have been out there trimming in the rain these past weeks!!!!
Call or email Jim Reiland at 541-899-1091 or firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP or if you have any questions.
NOTE: All participants must read and sign a BLM volunteer form at the trail head. Minors working on the trail must have parental consent. If you are planning to attend the January 9th trail party and are 18 or under, please contact Hope Robertson 541-899-5665 so she can arrange for a volunteer form to be emailed or faxed for your parent’s signature in advance.
