Deming Trailhead Towards Grub Gulch – THIRD TIME’s A CHARM
Wishful thinking – but one never knows what
might show up
– Shooting Stars along the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail
By know you all have this announcement memorized – same place, same station – hopefully the snow/rain will hold off for the day.
Where: Meet at Deming Trailhead – Close to the 9 mile marker on Sterling Creek Rd. turn onto the Armstrong-Deming BLM road (sign for SMDT opposite turn-off) Go 500 yards to a “T” and turn left. Trailhead is about 1 mile up the road.
When: Saturday, March 16, 2019 8:30AM-1:30PM (SUTA provides lunch)
What: Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – cutting/digging out encroaching vegetation and a focus on widening the tread in some areas. We cancel only if heavy rain/snow is forecast. SUTA volunteers will bake home made snacks.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves. Bring water and whatever special snacks you may need. If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.
