We will be hiking and working on the lovely section of the Sterling Mine Ditch between the Tunnel Ridge and Little Applegate Trailheads. Our plan is to start from the Tunnel Ridge TH and finish half of this section at this work party.  At the February work party we will work in from Little Applegate Trailhead. This will be an out and back hike totaling about four to five miles – depending upon how far we get! Great views and a sunny, warmer section of the trail to work in winter – if the weather cooperates!
Where:  Meet at Buncom (corner of Sterling Creek Rd and Little Applegate Rd at 8:30 AM.  We will carpool/caravan to the Tunnel Ridge Trailhead.
When:  Saturday, January 27, 2018  8:30AM-1:30PM (SUTA provides lunch)
What:  Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – cutting/digging out encroaching vegetation and some tread work as needed.  We cancel only if heavy rain is forecast.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves.  Bring water and whatever special snacks you like.  If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.
