National Trails Day is June 1st, 2024
June 1 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Siskiyou Uplands Trail Association (SUTA), in partnership with Medford District Bureau of Land Management and support from REI and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Recreational Trails Program (RTP), has completed 5 miles of new trails! These wonderful new trails provide new scenic loop options between the Wolf Gap Trailhead and the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail of 5 or 10 miles. There is also an easy, scenic 2-mile Round Trip hike out to a lovely view of the Siskiyou Crest, for those wanting a shorter hike.
Join us for the festivities, guided hikes, and fun family activities at 9:00 am at the Wolf Gap Trailhead. There will be information on various topics at the trailhead, trail maps, and wildflower and wildlife information. Everyone is welcome to attend. Dogs are welcome on-leash.
Visit our website at www.sutaoregon.org for directions to the trailhead, maps, and other info. All maps (click HERE) are downloadable geo-pdfs and can be opened in Avenza maps (and some other apps) before you head out to the trailhead. A link to download the app is at the top of the MAPS page. This way you will be able to see where you are on the map as you are hiking. Download and install the apps and map(s) before you head out there, though, as there is no cell signal in much of the area.
Thank you for continuing to support SUTA’s work on non-motorized trails in the Rogue Valley.
