Sterling Mine Ditch Trail Work Party
The meadows will be bright green and the wildflowers should be popping for our next trail work party starting at the Little Applegate Trailhead. To cap it off, two SUTA volunteers – Debbie and Greg Schultz owners of the Schultz Winery (see below)- have generously offered to provide a 10% discount on their wines or glass pours at their just-opened tasting room for anyone coming to the March 19th work party.
When: March 19th – Saturday 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM (includes lunch provided by SUTA)
Where: Meet at Buncom (corner of Little Applegate Rd and Sterling Creek Rd) to carpool to Little Applegate Trailhead on Little Applegate Road. For detailed driving directions click HERE.
What: Brushing and tread work along the access trail and the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail. We will go about half-way towards Tunnel Ridge and turn around and come back to the Little Applegate Trailhead for lunch about a six mile hike.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves. . If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, or sturdy shovel. Bring water and whatever special snacks you like. SUTA supplies additional trail tools, delicious home-baked snacks to fuel you on the trail, as well as lunch.
RSVP: If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food! Thank you
The dates for future SUTA trail work parties are:
