WHEN:  Our DATE HAS CHANGED for our last official work party for the 2024-2025 winter season. Due to scheduling conflicts, it is now scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, 2025. Our work parties usually run from 9:00 to 1:00 and include a hearty lunch and trail snacks, so save the date!

Trail Work from Armstrong Gulch on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail

We’re hoping for some mild weather, but please check your email/Facebook posts for an update on Saturday, April 26th.
We’re planning to work on tread repair at several locations where trees have come down and damaged the tread, some general tune-up, and vegetation trimming on the Armstrong Gulch section of the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail. We’ll also install trail signs for the new Armstrong Ridge Trail that was completed in January.

WHERE:  Meet-up on Armstrong-Deming Road approximately 1/2 mile past the Armstrong Gulch Trailhead at 9:00. This is the location where the ditch crosses the road. There is plenty of parking along the road.

What to Bring: Wear comfortable and supportive hiking or work boots. Also bring work gloves, and dress in layers appropriate to the weather. Bring your own water bottle and SUTA will have water at the trailhead for refills.  SUTA will also provide some yummy home-baked trail snacks!  We provide tools, but if you have a favorite tread tool, loppers, or pruning saw, feel free bring it (write your name on it please).

There IS such a thing as a FREE LUNCH!  SUTA will provide lunch back at the starting location when we are finished working.
