SUTA’s last 2013 trail work party on the Armstrong Gulch Trail will be Saturday, November 16th – from 8:30 AM to 1 PM. To get both new Armstrong Gulch access trails ready for winter rains and spring use, we would love your help! We will be fine-tuning and completing the great work the Job Council and BLM staff has already done.
It’s a fun chance to see both of the new access trails if you have not hiked them yet and an opportunity to participate in the finishing stages of a new trail. As a bonus you’ll meet new people, get some exercise and contribute to this community trail system. We also hope to install our first REI- funded kiosk at the trailhead.
Please RSVP if you CAN come – email sutaoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan tasks and food.
Meet at the Armstrong Gulch trailhead at 8:30 AM. If you have any tread tools, rakes, hand saws or loppers, please bring them. Wear sturdy boots, gloves and layers. Bring water and snacks as desired. SUTA will provide mid-morning home-baked snacks and a simple lunch at the end of our work party. Light rain does not cancel our work parties.
Directions to Armstrong Gulch Trailhead: Take Sterling Creek Road (from Jacksonville direction) almost to the 9 mile marker.
