Armstrong Gulch TH Trail Work Party – March 17, 2018
March 17, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 1:30 pm
This month we will work from the Armstrong Trailhead, heading south for about two miles – a four- mile round trip hike. Some wildflowers may be popping out by then! This is an easy hike and a lovely part of the trail but it needs your help to keep this popular section of the trail in user-friendly shape.
Where: Meet at Armstrong Trailhead (off of Sterling Creek Rd near the 9-mile marker) Sterling Mine Ditch Trail sign on Sterling Creek Rd. – turn onto the Deming-Armstrong road. At the “T” turn right, trailhead is less than ½ mile.
When: Saturday, March 17th, 2018 8:30AM-1:30PM (SUTA provides lunch)
What: Trail maintenance on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail – cutting/digging out encroaching vegetation and some tread work as needed. We cancel only if heavy rain/snow is forecast.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves. Bring water and whatever special snacks you like. If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, rake or sturdy shovel.
RSVP: If you plan to come, please email SUTAoregoncontact@gmail.com so we can plan the work party and food! Thank you!
