Sterling Mine Ditch Trail Work Party
The meadows will be bright green, wildflowers still showing, and plenty of views of both the Siskiyou Crest and Little Applegate Valley.
Join this second-to-last work party of the season to help keep the trail open and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow trail users and neighbors.
When: April 9th – Saturday 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM (includes lunch provided by SUTA)
Where: Meet at Buncom (corner of Little Applegate Rd and Sterling Creek Rd to carpool to a private property on Little Applegate Road for access to the SMDT. For detailed driving directions click HERE.
What: We’ll hike a short distance up hill to this lightly traveled trail section for some brushing and tread work, returning to Wolf Gulch Farm for lunch. Total hiking distance between four and six miles.
What to Bring: Wear comfortable hiking or work boots, dress in layers and bring gloves. . If you have them, please bring loppers, a pruning saw or a tread tool such as a Pulaski, grubber, or sturdy shovel. Bring water and whatever special snacks you like. SUTA supplies additional trail tools, delicious home-baked snacks to fuel you on the trail, as well as lunch.

The last SUTA trail work party this season will be on April 30, 2016 – most likely working from the Tunnel Ridge trailhead.
