Get an aerial view of where you live! Here are two shots taken earlier this year from the trail we will be hiking with examples of the views. You will be able to look over the Rogue Valley to the mountains in the east and into the Applegate Valley and south to the Red Butte Mountains/ California and more.
What: A scouting hike from Point Mountain to Wagner Gap (Wagner Creek Road)
When: Saturday Oct 29, 2011 9:30 AM to about 1 PM (BRING A LUNCH)
PLEASE RSVP: So we know how many to plan for please RSVP to this email.
Where: We will meet at Wagner Gap and leave most of our cars, carpooling to drive uphill to our starting point at Point Mountain. The easiest way to get there is to go to Talent and take Wagner Creek Road until it ends at Wagner Gap. Its a gorgeous drive up a windy road.
Why: ITS FALL! THIS WILL BE SPECTACULAR, and we’re finishing up the details of our trail route.
What to expect: Bring layers, you will be up high (4,500 dropping down to Wagner Gap), wear long pants/long sleeves – we will be going through brushy areas. This will primarily be a downhill hike – barring some forays to check out alternate routes. We’re estimating this is about a 4 mile hike.
What to bring: WATER, hiking boots, snacks/lunch, binoculars and camera if you like. Also please print out the SUTA Liability Waiver Form, read and sign it and bring it with you. This will speed things up so we can hike and not fill out paperwork!
We will bring dessert!!!
Look forward to seeing many of you out on the trail.
